Sundance Film Festival
The Sundance Film Festival is an annual independent film festival organized by the Sundance Institute. Each year the festival takes on a different "brand identity" to help showcase the unique experience(s) that the show will have. The project brief required that we do not use or reference the iconic Sundance Institute logo, nor any obvious visuals of a sun. The following marketing materials, event tickets, and entry badges were inspired by the dynamic and vibrant spirit of independent cinema and the idea of community, togetherness, and the bold existence of humanity.
The use of a chalk-textured line was used to represent a multifaceted experience, as the texture left behind after using a piece of chalk is never the same as the previous stroke, highlighting how different perspectives and experiences can come together to create a cohesive reality. This design choice reflects the festival's commitment to showcasing a wide range of voices and ideas, emphasizing inclusivity and innovation within the cinematic arts.
