GrownUp

The leading e-learning platform for young adults.

Three iPhones lay side by side against a white background. Each screen is different and showcases an interface for an e-learning app about navigating adulthood.

Project Overview

GrownUp is an e-learning app aimed at helping young adults navigate adulthood for the very first time.

Problem Statement

Young adults aged 18-30 who are self-sustaining need help finding trusted, centralized resources about adult problems and how to better understand and solve them. Current solutions focus on digital resources such as asking Google, or reaching out to friends or family for help on solving their issues/problems, which isn’t always accurate or consistent.

Providing centralizing resources and easy-to-understand, trusted explanations of life skills that adults struggle with, young adults can feel empowered and more capable of solving and navigating adult issues/problems.

Project Timeline

The project was assigned during the beginning of the semester and the below timeline was used to accomplish all tasks.

A project timeline showing tasks and dates. The tasks are "Create Research Plan, Research Synthesis, Ideation Begins, Low Fi Prototype & Critique, Hi Fi Prototype & Critique, User Testing, and Case Study Presentations"

Findings & Affinity Mapping

Research methods included user interviews and competitive analysis. The findings were compiled into an affinity map in order to organize and determine underlying patterns and themes in the research. The underlying themes were then used to influence the design and features within the application.

Image shows various groupings of multi-colored sticky notes with writing on each which represents the research organization technique of affinity mapping.

“There is a giant gap between what is taught in school (K-12) and what you actually need to know when you’re an adult. Currently, there is no easy way to bridge that gap on your own. That's where GrownUp can come into play.”
